The structure of these works is irrational and unfocused, reflecting a multitud of perspectives and ideologies, and a plurality of unmarked voices. The radical irreverence of popular expression, which is inherently critical of the language and ideology of official authority, is generally couched in an innocent, humorous and ambivalent voice in order to scape the sanctions of repression.
